When the lacquer is cut, the actual volume and sound quality of the vinyl is determined based on variables such as the concentration of high/low frequencies, the length of each side, ….; but we already have everything prepared after the pre-cut mastering to which we have submitted the files before transferring them to the physical medium, the lacquer.
The lacquer is an aluminum disc of greater dimension than a normal vinyl and covered with a nitrocellulose lacquer where the engineer transfers your sound from the support and from where we will later obtain the stampers; the metal molds where the vinyls will be pressed.
To proceed with the cut and transfer all the sound, we place the lacquer on the vinyl cutting wheel, securing it with a vacuum line in the center. A test cut is made and with the microscope we check the quality and separation of the groove, as well as we will try to detect any problems or anomalies.
When everything is Okz, we will start the recording / cutting of the lacquer, controlling at all times the distance and depth of the furrow. All waste material is removed by a vacuum system. When the lacquer is cut, it is sent directly to the elaboration of the electroplating works, where through different mechanical, chemical and electrical processes, the stampers are elaborated. Stampers are the metal molds that, once in the pressing plant, will shape your vinyl.
